Christian (1964) holds two post-graduate master degrees: Master of Corporate Communication (MCC) from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Master Management Consultant (MMC) from the Free University Amsterdam. In 2007, Christian became a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). The CMC is the internationally recognised mark of excellence in management consultancy and is recognised directly in the countries covered by the 46 Members of ICMCI.

Christian participated in the non-executive board members programme (Nyenrode Commissarissencyclus) at Nyenrode Business University. He attended the executive Master of Business Valuation programme (finance, valuation and M&A) at the Tilburg TiasNimbas Business School.

Christian has worked in various European countries and has North American experience as well and worked with different cultures. He speaks five languages.

Christian ter Maat has had the opportunity to contribute to leading corporate organisations & brands on their voyage to be visible, transparen and successful. In their strategies they focussed on rooted corporate identity, open & orchestrated communications and responsible & sustainable business development. Interesting was that these brands operated in mutually beneficial and often complementary industries, such as: entertainment (live, film & television), media (off/online), creative industries, hospitality, leisure, tourism, wellness, care, charity, professional services, retail, real-estate and automotive.

He was able with his teams, to achieve major business improvements and results. He has worked for start-ups as well as medium seized companies (up to 500 employees). Its clients and business partners were multinationals, of which Ford Motor Company, at the time, with nearly 350.000 employees globally was the largest.
His skills range from strategy, management consultancy, business development/growth to reputation/marketing. His interests focus on aligning the most appropriate strategy, innovation, structure and marketing approaches in order to achieve the objectives, while creating a true consumer/client experience and sustainable results.
